Since 1989 the World Fair Trade Organization has been working to provide economic opportunity for more than 400 entrepreneurs, artisans, farmers and innovators in 70 countries around the world.

WFTO members like Freeset are committed to respecting the environment by sourcing local, organic and recycled materials, and reducing energy use or using renewable energy where possible.

While the WFTO sets high business standards in 10 important areas, one of the most notable is a local living wage. This ensures that, in no more than 48 hours of work per week, a worker receives enough income to cover the basics: food, water, housing, education, health care, transportation, clothing, as well as extra provision for special events or the replacing of a roof.
